Teachers Service Commission has given guidelines on free community based learning for all learners who have been affected due to the corona virus pandemic.

This is a good initiative as learners will now be kept busy as teachers are expected to arrange for classes of not more than fifteen students in their villages for four hours daily.

Teachers are therefore advised to register with the county education officials within the areas they are currently living in order to participate in the exercise.

The new community based learning will take place in open places and covid -19 measures shall be strictly adhered to.

Learners are expected to participate in life skills such as hygiene, grazing, digging, telling stories etc. The nyumba kumi initiative shall also play an important role in the exercise. They shall make sure all learners are engaged.

This comes after learners have had a long break from school after the corona virus pandemic which forced schools to close hence interrupting their studies.
