TSC boss Nancy Macharia has today revealed that they are in the process of giving teachers new duties. This is after learning was abruptly halted as a result of the coronavirus pandemic outbreak.

Speaking in address to the media on stakeholder resolutions on reopening of learning institutions the TSC boss stated that they will issue guidelines on how community service learning will conducted by teachers

Education CS Magoha disclosed the ministry will continue inspecting learning institutions to ensure they are set for reopening in January 2021.

Magoha also stated that the Government has set aside funds to pay salaries to Board of Government teachers, security staff and settle utilities.

On reopening of colleges and universities, the CS revealed that most are not ready for reopening and as result they will remain closed till January 2021. However, universities should continue offering online programmes, including examinations and graduations.

Magoha stated the community learning service will be strict as Multiagency teams will map out country to ensure teachers offer community service lessons on values to learners under an arrangement similar to the Nyumba Kumi framework.

The better of the community learning is that the new plan that will come at no cost to parents.
