The government made a decision to close schools in the country when the first Corona virus case was recorded in the country early this year.

Closing down of schools has affected the academic calendar greatly as students will be forced to repeat in the next year there current classes.

Education cabinet secretary Professor George Magoha has been Under intense pressure from the parents and other stakeholders to reopen schools early because of the harm that the closure of schools has caused on students.

Many children have fallen prey to the drug peddlers, some engaged in crime while girls have turned pregnant amongst other vices.

Magoha warned the media against making him to appear confused concerning the re-opening of the Institutions of learning by misreporting him.

In what happens to be a big relief to the students and teachers the interior Security cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiangi will hold a meeting with the ministry of education ,regional and county commissioners to shed more light on the schools reopening.

According to a report by the Standard newspaper, the high profile meeting will dig deep into the Sh1.9 billion under the Economic Stimulus Programme for the supply of special locally assembled desks that Will ensure that the schools meet the social distancing guidelines.
