School reopening and resumption of studies in Kenya remains to be a big challenge to the nation. There have been inconsistent in the reopening plans, with each plan put up to see reopening failing even before reaching maturity.

The stand of cabinet secretary for education, CS Magoha rested his mind on the fact that the issue to do with when schools shall reopen will be based on the medical advice from the ministry of health about the corona virus disease. In addition, CS Magoha also said that schools will only be prior to reopen if the infection curve of corona virus flattens and starts declining.

Based on the above facts, the reports from the health ministry on the current situation of corona virus sends a positive advice to Magoha that schools are prior to reopen in September 2020 especially the tertiary institutions.

It can be observed across the trend in the daily corona briefing that the deadly virus is growing weaker and weaker after every other day. There have resulted significant number of recoveries from the deadly monster with only death rate less than 1%.

On 16th August 2020, a total of 686 new corona virus recoveries resulted. This was only disputed with an additional of 271 new more cases, showing a decline in curve of corona virus infections in the country. Fortunately, similar trend has been observed more often in the most recent.

The good progress that is being experienced in the fight of the virus explains to Magoha why school reopening in September might be favored.
