The Health Cs Mutahi Kagwe says that government is now planning to use boarding schools across the country to quarantine Coronavirus patients should the situation get out of control in health facilities. There are limited quarantine facilities in health centers and with the rising number of confirmed cases, going forward such move might be inevitable.

While speaking in the daily brief on Corona epandemic, the cs expressed fear that cases of corona victims might rise even more beyond what health facilities in the country can accommodate. He said “Even countries like USA and Italy with best Health facilities have not been able to contain the high numbers they are facing and that’s why the government is looking at such alternatives when we get there”

Kagwe revealed that the number of confirmed cases in Kenya now stand at 42 from 38 which was reported on Friday. There was no new case reported yesterday.

According to the cs the responsibility of identifying the schools and placing those infected will be done at county level. All learning institutions in the country were closed two weeks ago following the President’s order in a measure to curb the spread of the virus. The schools now might find new occupants should the Cs’s fear come true.

He also warned the Politicians who are circulating the false news about the number of confirmed cases in the country. The cs was referring to Dagoretti South Mp home had taken to social media to slam Mutahi Kagwe over the statistics given by his ministry.
