The latest TSC recruitment guidelines has given hope to Diploma teachers. This is after the commission graded same level of academic qualifications for Degree and Diploma with same marks.
During the previous years the diploma holders were disadvantaged as their counterparts with degree holders were awarded more points according to the employment marking scheme.
However the commission has reviewed the guidelines which have put the diploma and degree holders at the same footing and therefore competing favorably. In addition those serving as interns have been awarded thirty marks ahead of their peers.
It’s the joy of every trained teacher to get employment from the Teachers Service Commission.This because the commission offers permanent employment and enhanced salaries. Teachers are currently well remunerated compared to the former years.
When the commission advertises for vacancies, unemployed teachers makes serious consideration for the positions. Last week the commission advertised five thousands slots for the unemployed teachers.
According to the commission the secondary positions are to be filled by qualified teachers who holds a bachelor degree or a diploma in education.
Other category affected in the score sheet are the undergraduate with second class level. Now second class upper and lower division will score the same marks in 2021 employment scoresheet.
Teachers Service Commission employs trained teachers every year. All university graduates who have undergone training, be it diploma or degree courses are always excited about this since they will land on great and payable jobs.
However, this has not been the case since TSC released the score sheet that will be used to hire and employ teachers some days ago.
From the score sheet, graduates have complained on social media platforms on the issue regarding securing for internships.
TSC stated that graduates who have had internship will score extra 30 marks unlike those who have not gone for internship. This means that the students who have had internships will definitely have a higher chance of securing the jobs.
Graduates have complained describing how hard it is to secure for internships because of the increased number of graduates every year.
TSC wants to higher experienced and highly qualified graduates, a thing that they believe is best to the education sector.
